'I don't want to see it go to waste'Frequently said by my late grandmother when being asked if she'd like some more cake/pie etc.You could see this as a deep appreciation for more important things in life, or as both my g'mother and I, you could just eat all unclaimed food in the house.

hypocrisy among rank and file

Yes exactly! It was this sort of thing which pushed me over the edge and gave me the courage to say'enough is enough', I can't cope with this bizarre double talk anymore. Then I thought it was just R&F, and elders, the COs, then the UN thing, it's all through. But yes it was R&F hypocrisy that I found the most maddening. I told elders that we ( our family) would not allow that sort of behaviour at home, so if'bad association spoils useful habits' the conclusion is clear!Am I rambling?

Hello Jerome, it seems you thought this through very carefully. I suppose the result would all depend on you girlfriend. I am not DFd yet and about three weeks ago I told my 'best friend' JW and I have not heard from her since, even to tell me of a death in our small cong. So please don't be too surprised at the effect this information on your girlfriend, remember she will WANT to believe any excuse the elder might give her. Also I am sure the Org is spinning madly trying to think up more excuses. But I don't think you could have handled it better. It cerainly will stay in her mind no matter what happens next.

Who is Don Adams?
by meat pie inaccording to watchtower news, the man listed as the president(or officer) of the corporation, on the un 2001-2002 ngo list is called don adams.
doesn't ring any bells, but i'm sure someone must know him.also most borg did not know the president and the secretary/treasurer of wts changed over a year ago.

Too much to ask?
by Danielson inis it too much too ask that when one makes a concious decision to leave as one of watchtower's jw "s without pomp or ceremony ie.
(dissassociationg oneself or getting dfd) and trying to live life on ones own terms that you could be left alone?guess not!
my sister left about a year ago has caused no trouble and has no influence on the congregation.not a chance!!

I am not DFd or DAd, at first when I stopped going, the phone was always ringing, and quite a few came to visit me. many who had never been before, even the co,(though not a squeak from the PO)I don't know what will happen now. They have either got bored with me, or there are too many fights going on at the KH.Or maybe they are waiting to catch me out at something (what?)in order to DF me, ( because I know where the bodies are buried)Anyway I dont think the suspense will kill me. AS for your sister I guess it all depends on what is happening locally, how much the elders have to deal with, are they being pressured by co, but I'm only guessing.I do't think they CAN just leave things as a matter of concience/opinion, because that would mean there was no absolute Truth.

Danielson, let me think about that. No they are not hamburgers either. To be serious, I don't think they could really have been my friends, well not much anyway. If they were they wouldn't let a little thing like not going to meetings, referring to Guardian articles, and telling (Military Police)'Special elders' they were just not being really honest, get in the way of friendship, or would they?
